Information for people with reduced mobility

Strasbourg overall presents high accessibility for people with reduced mobility. Notably, public transportation is accessible. Here, we advise you to use the tramway lines, as they are the most easily accessible. You’ll find below information regarding the tramway lines that may be useful to access the congress centrecongress or visit Strasbourg.

Accessibility at the PMC

Here you can find information for anyone who may need step-free routes, elevators, nearby seating, or support moving around the venue:

  • Step-free entrances: all entrances of the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès (PMC) (PMC) are step-free, and the site is fully accessible.
  • elevators and ramps: elevators are available at multiple places in the PMC (one next to the entrance, another one on the right next to Auditorium Cassin);;
  • routes between rooms: all presentations will take place on the bottom and first floors;
  • accessible toilets are available at multiple places in the PMC;
  • seating areas for breaks: a calm room is available (room Stuttgart, 1st Floor);
  • seating during poster sessions or receptions: seats will be available for all social events, as well as during poster sessions
  • support with room access or presentation setup: do not hesitate to ask the welcome team (blue tee-shirt).


Tramway

Lines to go to the PMC: B, E, H.
Train station (Gare Centrale) to PMC (Palais de la musique et des congrès – Tram stop “Wacken”): line A or D to City center, and then B to the PMC (21 minutes)- alternative: Bus H direction “Parlement Européen”, stop at “Lycée Kléber” (warning: there is about 900meters to arrive at the PMC after the “Lycée Kléber”)
Train station (Gare centrale) to city center (Homme de Fer): lines A, D (7 minutes)
City center (Homme de fer) to PMC (Palais de la musique et des congrès – Tram stop Wacken): line B (20 minutes)

UPDATES: there is currently some construction work ongoing on the tramway system during the conference, impacting trams B, C and F. As a consequence, the correspondence at the Tram station “Homme de fer” is no longer possible. You need to reach the next station (Broglie) to get the B tram to the PMC.

We are really sorry for these modifications which impair the accessibility of the event.

Hotels

All hotels listed on the GM website offer accessible rooms. For wheelchair users, we do not recommend the Diana and Dragon hotels (rooms are quite small). Good nearby options include BOMA, Léonor, and Hannong  (comfortable rooms, close to tram stops); Marriott (near the conference venues; slightly less central but convenient for PMC access).
